SVS is kicking off our aspen inventory season. Volunteers will learn how to use GPS technology, and will assist our botanist in determining if the valley's important aspen stands are in good health or in decline using a variety of simple tools and methods.

Last year our volunteers ranged from ages 9 - 80! No experience required, but ability to hike in steep areas is a must!

For more information, contact SVS at 756-1686 or email salmonvalley@centurytel.net

On June 16, our Hughes Creek Mulitparty Monitoring crew will begin planning the Summer 2010 season. Volunteers will be needed for a variety of jobs, including the on-the-ground evaluation of stream conditions, post-fire conditions, old growth stands, wildlife and more. This is a fun way to learn some new country and help the Lemhi County Forest Restoration Group understand if our 13,000-acre project is having the desired results. No experience is required.
