Maggie comes to SVS with a professional background primarily in Natural Resource Management, having worked for the US Forest Service in Montana, Oregon and Idaho from 2004 through 2019 as a Forester, Program Manager and Environmental Planner. Recently, Maggie started up and managed a successful ice cream business in downtown Salmon and has served on several local non-profit boards including the Salmon Arts Council, the Salmon River Mule Deer Foundation Chapter and the FernWaters Charter School Board. Maggie, and her husband, Travis, have 3 young children and as a family they love experiencing the wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities this amazing area provides. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, running and watching her kids learn and grow in this awesome community! 

Originally from the farmlands of Ohio, Kate fell in love with the Salmon River and the surrounding mountains after interning with the Salmon-Challis National Forest in 2017. Since then she’s farmed in Alabama, learned to speak Chitumbuka in the Peace Corps in Malawi, shared Crow culture at a state park in Montana, and managed the visitor center and interpretation/education programs at City of Rocks National Reserve and Castle Rocks State Park. Outside of work Kate enjoys quilting and sewing, hiking, and oohing and aahing at all the incredible details found out in nature.

Jessica moved to Salmon in 2014 with her partner, Jeremy to relocate and continue their small organic farm operation, Swift River Farm.  Born and raised in Idaho, Jessica has always cultivated an interest in outdoor and environmental education and was thrilled to join the SVS team in the spring of 2020.  In between growing veggies and spending time on SVS projects, Jessica enjoys anything and everything outside, especially if it involves exploring mountains, rivers and other wild places. 

Jenny was introduced to Salmon in the summer of 2013, when she worked as an intern for Salmon Valley Stewardship and Lemhi Regional Land Trust, working on aspen, range, and conservation easement monitoring. She returned to Salmon following college graduation in 2014 as the range monitoring crew lead and sage grouse resource specialist. In addition to leading our Natural Resources Stewardship & Monitoring Program, Jenny has served as coordinator for the Central Idaho Aspen Working Group, Lemhi Forest Restoration Group, Central Idaho Rangelands Network, and our internship program. Jenny enjoys the endless exploration opportunities Idaho provides. On a weekend you can find her backpacking, gardening, hiking, rafting, and chasing wildflowers.

Tiffany moved to the west from rural Ohio in 2010 and started her natural resources journey in college at the University of Montana. There she worked in the herbarium processing pressed plants and with her college professor traveling all over the Pacific Northwest collecting tree data for a study. After graduating, she joined SVS as a field technician and fell in love with the Salmon-Challis area. Tiffany has served as a crew lead, our natural resources program assistant and is excited for her new role as Reforestation Partnership Coordinator. Outside of work, you can find her crafting her little heart out or exploring the vast public lands by hiking, camping, and nerding out on wild flowers.   

Ari recently graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in conservation & restoration ecology. Ari grew up in Minnesota and got his start in the natural resources world after moving to Tucson, Arizona and joining the Arizona Conservation Corps in 2016. Since then, he has worked on a variety of field crews doing a wide array of work including invasive species removal, trail construction and maintenance, timber harvesting, habitat monitoring, native seed collection and native planting projects all across the western United States. Now located in Salmon, Idaho, Ari has a passion for all things outdoors and restoring our native landscapes. He spends his free time botanizing, hiking, climbing and kayaking wherever phone service is lacking.
