Harvest Fest - An Annual Celebration

Harvest Fest is Salmon Valley Stewardship's annual community celebration, bringing together neighbors, partners, and supporters to celebrate local food, community, and stewardship. The event highlights the people, organizations, and collaborative efforts that strengthen the Salmon River region while raising support for SVS's mission of conservation, education, and community resilience. As part of the celebration, the David Krosting Sustainability Award recognizes an individual, business, or organization whose lasting contributions reflect a commitment to the health of our economy, community, and environment.

Past David Krosting Sustainability Award Recipients

Each year, SVS presents the David Krosting Sustainability Award at our annual Harvest Fest celebration to a recipient who displays a strong commitment to Lemhi County’s economy, community, and the environment. 

Sustainability is defined as "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." Award recipients display a strong commitment to the components of the sustainability triple bottom line: economy, community, and the environment. The David Krosting Sustainability Award is presented to recipients creating a lifelong legacy in Lemhi County.

The award is named in honor of the Bureau of Land Management Salmon Field Office manager, David Krosting, who lost his battle with cancer in 2005. Dave challenged his employees and himself to consider not just how a project affected the environment, but also to look at community and economic benefits.
