Harvest Fest + the David Krosting Sustainability Award
The SVS Harvest Fest celebration is a family friendly and community-focused celebration. It is a chance to highlight food produced in the Salmon River area, local businesses and restaurants, and Salmon Valley Stewardship's work to promote a sustainable economy and productive working landscapes in the Salmon River region of Central Idaho. Your presence at this fun community event gives you a chance to come together with friends, neighbors and family and celebrate all things local that we love about this valley.
As part of Harvest Fest, we will announce a local business, nonprofit organization, or individual for our annual David Krosting Sustainability Award.
Our Organization’s History
Salmon Valley Stewardship got its start as a broad collaborative that grew out of discussions about how to resolve the issues of disappearing jobs, wildlife conflicts, and wildfire concerns on adjacent public lands. Since our inception in 2004, SVS has coordinated outreach efforts with the broader community through a number of programs of work, including land use planning, sustainable business enterprise, forest restoration, wildlife and habitat monitoring, trails, local foods, and youth environmental education programming.
