Nominations are closed for 2025. Recipient will be announced at the annual SVS Harvest Fest celebration on Thursday September 4, 2025.

Each year, SVS presents the David Krosting Sustainability Award at our annual Harvest Celebration to a recipient who displays a strong commitment to Lemhi County’s economy, community, and the environment.

Sustainability is defined as "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." Award recipients display a strong commitment to the components of the sustainability triple bottom line: economy, community, and the environment. The David Krosting Sustainability Award is presented to recipients creating a lifelong legacy in Lemhi County.

Environment: How does your nominee work to improve the natural environment in Lemhi County? How? Examples include getting people outdoors, public lands access, energy efficient or low-waste practices

Community: How does the nominee give back to the community? Do they volunteer or foster collaboration? Do they provide jobs or generate community improvement/development?

Economy: What does the nominee contribute to the local or regional economy? Can the activity be sustained over time? Does the nominee re-invest in innovative ways that helps strengthen the environment and community?
