Congratulations Jessica and Josh Henroid of Mountain Harvest Community Market for winning the 15th David Krosting Sustainability Award!
Over 130 people attended the Salmon Valley Stewardship Harvest Celebration at Sweet Water Hollow on September 15th, 2022 and they gave a standing ovation as the award was announced and presented by SVS’s Board of Directors.
Jessica and Josh were chosen as this year's award recipients because they contribute to a healthy community environment by providing a space that is accessible and supportive to the needs of local and regional community members. At the store, they provide an easy way for purchasers to make sustainable and healthy food and grocery decisions. By providing bulk items, anyone is able to refill their own containers, which supports a reduce and reuse ethic, and reduces waste. The Henroids continue to build their store space with local farm and food products in mind and work closely with local producers to provide fair prices, distribution space, and remain flexible to the ever changing seasons of local food production. Josh and Jessica not only support other local businesses, artists, and community non-profits, they show up to volunteer, and offer up ideas and solutions to support and bring benefit to our community, our food systems, culture, and our local environment.
